This project involved inventory and inspection of approximately 1,250 large culverts in Columbia, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster, and Westchester counties (Region 8). The services provided included creating a database of all culverts (5'0" to 20'0") owned by NYSDOT within the referenced counties. Each culvert was located using GPS technology, and inspected using current NYSDOT (Culvert Inventory & Inspection Manual) & FHWA Standards. Electronic and hard copy files for each culvert were created, including inventory and inspection data, as-built structural plans, site plans, and existing right-of-way information. This project also included preliminary and final design for the replacement/rehabilitation of several culverts selected by the NYSDOT as needing immediate attention.
