Floating
Dock Facility

facility to function as an occasional mooring for the sailing
vessels Hudson River Sloop Clearwater and the Halfmoon,
located at the existing River Front Park site in the City
of Rensselaer.
Cooper's
Cave Access and Redevelopment
Cooper's
Cave, made famous by James Fenimore Cooper's “The Last of
the Mohicans” is now more accessible to the public.
Mohican fans who want to see if his description of a secret
entrance to the cave… “a narrow, deep, cavern in the rock,
whose length appeared much extended by the perspective and
the nature of the light by which it was seen”… can
now see if it is what they imagined. Laberge Group worked
with the Village of South Glens Falls, New York, to
create access to the island via a pedestrian bridge.
Parking and an access drive are being finalized. The
design of this site honors the historic themes of Cooper's
book by providing a secure terrace area on the island and
appropriate historical signage, lighting, and landscaping
around the cave's entrance and recommending appropriate
public art to serve as the focal point of interest. The
design intends to attract Cooper enthusiasts, history
buffs and casual visitors to the site and the Village.

playing fields and cross-country ski and nature trails.

Bauer
Environmental Park
New 20+ acre environmentally sensitive park in the middle
of the urban Village of Colonie. One key to planning the
access of the park was to connect it to one of the major
pedestrian thoroughfares through the Village. The park provides
a series of interpretive trails drawing the population from
the neighboring residential areas.
Cook
Park Redevelopment
Phase I of the Cook Park redevelopment program provided
construction and rehabilitation of facilities in the 55-acre
park. The park is extensively used for picnicking, enjoyment
of outdoor activities, and organized sports for children
and youth. Cook Park serves not only the Village of Colonie,
but also residents of the Towns of Colonie and Guilderland
and the City of Albany. Phase II created a one mile waterfront
exercise trail and the addition of two gazebos for family
gatherings and picnicking. Phase III provided a pavilion,
pond access; trails, and court sports and a band shell/amphitheater.
Cook
Park Amphitheater
Design and construction of a community amphitheater in the
Village's main park for multipurpose use by various civic
groups. The design incorporated creation of a scenic vista
of Cook Pond for the audiences and general patrons.
