Lincoln Avenue Pedestrian & Bicycle Access Improvements
Village of Colonie, Albany County, New York, PIN 1754.50
|
|

Land use along Lincoln Avenue consists of single-family residential units. A major concern prior to project implementation was the safety of residents walking or bicycling along a road that functions as an urban arterial. Lincoln Avenue connects with Central Avenue (NYS Route 5), which provides pedestrian accommodations via concrete sidewalks. In addition, many residents frequent Cook Park for recreational activities. In effect, residents along and adjacent to/from Cook Park needed to use their automobile to safely travel to Central Avenue or Cook Park. As a result of this project, residents can safely walk or bike along Lincoln Avenue and thus reduce the dependency on motorized vehicles.

Laberge Group performed project scoping, preliminary design, final design and construction observation services for the construction of bicycle and pedestrian facilities along Lincoln Avenue from Cook Park access road to Central Avenue.
Laberge Group provided on-site construction observation staff whose duties included review of field work, shop drawings review, interpretation of contract documents, project record maintenance, payment request, project schedule review, and coordination with Village officials.
