Town of Hoosick, New York
|
|

Laberge Group was retained to research, develop and prepare an updated Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Hoosick.
The Town, a unique rural community located in northeastern Rensselaer County, is bisected by the Hoosick River just south of its final bend westward towards the Hudson River.
The Town began the planning process in July of 2002 by establishing a Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee. The Committee was created with the intent of representing a large cross section of the community, including the Town Board, the business community, fraternal and religious organizations, farmers, senior citizens, students, and homeowners.
The Comprehensive Plan is divided into four main sections:
I. Introduction.
II. Inventory & Analysis.
III. Issues, Goals and Recommendations.
IV. implementation Plan.
The public participation process included residential and business surveys, public committee meetings, visioning workshop, Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, & Threats workshop, Goal setting workshop, focus group meeting, individual stakeholder interviews, and draft and final public hearings.
