|
|

Cook Park redevelopment consists of the construction and rehabilitation of facilities in the 55-acre park. The park is extensively used for picnicking, enjoyment of outdoor activities, and organized sports for all ages. Cook Park serves not only the Village of Colonie, but also portions of the Towns of Colonie and Guilderland and the City of Albany. Amenities include baseball and softball fields, soccer fields, basketball, tennis and volleyball courts, shuffleboard, bocce and horseshoe facilities, two playgrounds, a large pavilion equipped with a kitchen and barbeque pit, picnic tables and walking trails throughout the park and around the pond. Additional improvements include revitalizing Cook Pond by removing silt and sediment that was reducing the pond size; construction of a new amphitheatre near the water, a dock, an additional small gazebo and installation of a fountain in Cook Pond.
