This project involved the rehabilitation of a historically significant structure damaged by flooding.
The rehabilitation included:
- removal and disposal of the existing superstructure.
- excavation of the west abutment.
- construction of a concrete foundation for the rebuilt abutment.
- rebuilding the west abutment reusing the field stones.
- modification of the east abutment for placement of a new superstructure.
- construction of a new pre-stressed laminated 2 x 10 timber superstructure.
- construction of a timber guide railing system.
- rehabilitation and reinstallation of the historic iron railings.

The project also Included close coordination with State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), State Emergency Management Office (SEMO) and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and other regulatory agencies. Laberge Group, as the prime consultant, had overall responsibility for the design work associated with this project. Laberge Group also provided construction support & observation services.
