Entertainment Center
Village of South Glens Falls, New York
|
|
As an integral
component of the South Glens Falls Local Economic Revitalization
Plan, the new entertainment center was presented as a dream
to enrich the quality of life for the residents of the Village
of South Glens Falls. The Village envisioned the center
sitting on the banks of the Hudson River and providing the
venue for great summer entertainment for the residents and
visitors. The Village Board enthusiastically embraced the
idea and began steps to bring it to reality.
The
Outdoor Entertainment Center was partially funded through
a generous member item contribution from NYS Senate Majority
Leader Joseph Bruno and is one component of a long range
plan for economic revitalization of the Village.
Laberge Group was responsible for the planning and design
of the structure and site. Located at the end of First Street
in the Village of South Glens Falls Historical Park, the
Outdoor Entertainment Center serves as a pivotal point in
the overall plan to connect the entrance of the Betar Byway
to the new location of Cooper’s Cave Access, and serves
as a public gathering space in downtown South Glens Falls.
